1. LEGAL COMPLIANCE NOTICE
DISCLAIMER: This document is drafted in accordance with Scots law. It is designed to establish a formal volunteer relationship that avoids the inadvertent creation of an employment contract. However, under Scots employment law, the "reality of the situation" (including the degree of control, mutuality of obligation, and personal service) can override written labels. Organizations must ensure that volunteers are not treated as employees (e.g., by providing wages instead of expenses, or imposing rigid shift requirements). Legal counsel should review this template to ensure it aligns with your specific operational practices and internal HR policies.
