4. STEP-BY-STEP EXECUTION & FILING GUIDE

To ensure this document is legally binding and recognized by immigration authorities, follow these instructions precisely:

  1. Field Completion: Open this document in Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Use the Find and Replace function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to locate all bracketed fields (e.g., [Principal Full Legal Name]) and replace them with the actual data.
  2. Verify Authority: If the Agent is a law firm or agency, ensure the signatory has the corporate authority to bind the entity to this contract.
  3. Notarization (Critical): While not explicitly required for all visa types, it is highly recommended to have the Principal’s signature notarized. A notary public should witness the signature and apply their seal to the "Principal" section to prevent challenges to the document's authenticity by consular officers.
  4. Digital Signature (DocuSign/Adobe Sign): If executing digitally, ensure the platform provides a "Certificate of Completion" that logs the IP address, timestamp, and email verification of both parties.
  5. Apostille (International Use): If the Power of Attorney is being sent to a foreign consulate outside the country of execution, you may need an Apostille from the Secretary of State or relevant ministry to verify the notary’s credentials.
  6. Record Retention: Maintain the original signed document in a secure fireproof safe. Provide a high-resolution PDF scan to the Agent. Ensure the Agent includes a copy of this Power of Attorney with every filing made to the immigration authorities.
  7. Revocation: If you wish to terminate this power, you must issue a formal "Notice of Revocation of Power of Attorney" in writing to the Agent and the relevant immigration office.
