6. Standard Operating Workflow

1. Data Initialization:
   • Create a new workbook and establish two primary tabs: Master_BL_Data and Executive_Dashboard.
   • Apply the column headers defined in Section 2 to the Master_BL_Data worksheet starting at row 1.
2. Validation Enforcement:
   • Set up Excel Data Validation drop-down menus for Container_Type (20ST, 40ST, 40HC, 45HC, LCL), Freight_Terms (Prepaid, Collect), and BL_Status (Draft, Issued, Surrendered, Amended).
3. Booking Entry:
   • When a carrier confirms space, enter the booking reference, shipper, consignee, and vessel schedule data (ETD, ETA, Port_Of_Loading, Port_Of_Discharge). Set BL_Status to Draft.
4. Container Stuffing & Manifest Update:
   • Upon container gate-in, input the physical Container_Number, Seal_Number, Package_Count, Gross_Weight_KG, and Measurement_CBM. Verify that Gross Weight matches VGM documentation.
5. B/L Issuance & Surrender Workflow:
   • Once commercial terms are finalized and freight is secured, update BL_Status to Issued. Upon telecommunication release or physical surrender of original paper B/Ls to the carrier, update status to Surrendered.
